Over a series of treatments, patients find that their face feels smoother, looks younger, and has a much more even tone. We are happy to walk you through the process from start to finish. Contact the team at J Hopkins for details and pricing.
Diamond-tip microdermabrasion is one of the most popular skin care treatments around. The process is similar to a typical microdermabrasion; however, during a diamond-tip microdermabrasion procedure, small diamonds are affixed to the regular microdermabrasion tool. These diamonds help to properly exfoliate the face, slough off dead skin cells, and increase blood flow to the skin. Because diamonds are such successful skin exfoliators, diamond-tip microdermabrasion can work more thoroughly and effectivelythan regular microdermabrasion.
Do you have questions about diamond-tip microdermabrasion? Do not hesitate to contact J Hopkins Plastic Surgery today. We can be reached at 972-298-6641 – we’re happy to offer our assistance!
The best candidates for microdermabrasion are individuals from young to middle–aged who don’t require more invasive procedures, such as a chemical peel or laser treatment. Ideally, a candidate wouldn’t mind some minor discomfort during the procedure. If you have any questions about the procedure, we’re happy to answer any of them. Being informed allows you to feel more confident walking into the procedure room.
Microdermabrasion is a relatively simple procedure, and many people find that they have only minor discomfort. We are happy to explain the process step by step to each of our patients.
Step 1: Your skin will be cleaned and prepped for the microdermabrasion procedure.
Step 2: Fine particles are exfoliated against the skin and then removed quickly. Alternatively, a diamond-tipped wand is slowly moved across your skin, removing dead skin cells and stimulating new skin growth.
Step 3: A small vacuum located near the tip of the device removes any dead skin cells from your face.
You will be asked to avoid prolonged sun exposure for a week or so after your microdermabrasion procedure. Your skin may feel a bit sensitive for a few days, just make sure to be gentle with your skin until it is fully healed from the procedure.
After the procedure, you may experience some flushing of the skin in the areas treated. This is normal. We recommend a series of weekly treatments over a period of six weeks to see results. You may resume normal activities after the treatment.
There is little risk involved with microdermabrasion. The majority of patients may feel some minor discomfort during and directly after the procedure. Your skin may be more sensitive and swollen for a few hours. It is common for your skin to be dry or flaky after a few days. It is recommended that you wear sunscreen for a few weeks after microdermabrasion, as your skin will be much more sensitive to sunlight. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the risks involved in microdermabrasion, contact our office at 972-298-6641.
The cost of microdermabrasion can vary depending on how many sessions you require. Insurance companies do not cover microdermabrasion, but financing options are available. However, most patients find that the cost of microdermabrasion is relatively small when compared to other plastic surgery options.
